Notes - There was an Eliza Birch present at Joseph's death. She was living at 6 Gt Hampton St and is recorded on the 1851 Census (1851 Census Birch Eliza). She must have been married to a Birch unless she has reverted to her maiden name. She is not Benjamin's wife, (Joseph's brother Benjamin) as Benjamin married Lucy Walker in 1841 and Benjamin appears to have died in 1848. Lucy Walker is recorded on the 1851 census as a dyer and is living at 217 Bristol Street. She is a widow living with her son, George Thomas Walker, (1851 Census Birch, Lucy). Benjamin is listed as a dyer in the Slater 1846 directrory as living at this address.
Eliza was also present at Benjamin's death 1848 - Eliza Birch mentioned on Joseph Birch's death certificate
She was born about 1812. Joseph was born 1819 - she could be a cousin's wife or his sister-in-law
See 1851 Census Birch Eliza
Also on that census is a Mary Birch? and her children recorded as a sister. Thus she could be Eliza's sister or sister-in-law
See also note with Joseph Birch
She could be Joseph's sister Mary Birch and Eliza could be another sister
Pigot 1842 records a Benjamin Birch, dyer at this address. This could be Eliza's husband or Benjamin, Joseph's father
